A note on how therapy unfolds
Every individual’s journey with therapy is unique
Unless we are working towards a specific, pre-agreed goal with a defined timeframe
The number of 'required' sessions can be difficult to predict in advance
And tends to be shaped by various factors
The depth of the work, how committed you are to the process, financial limitations and life schedules can all contribute to how many sessions individuals may engage with
In my experience, therapy isn’t something that tends to follow a fixed timeline
And the most 'helpful' amount of sessions may be open-ended
For many people, building trust, safety and authentic connection usually develops surprisingly quickly over the first 3-4 sessions
The foundation of our relationship is important
It creates the space where more meaningful change can be achieved
And with relational depth we can explore deeper work together
