A note on how therapy unfolds
Every individual’s journey with therapy is unique.
Unless we are working towards a specific, agreed goal with a defined timeframe, the number of sessions required is often open-ended. It can be difficult to predict in advance, as it tends to be shaped by the depth of the work, what you’re bringing to the sessions, and how ready you feel to engage with the process.
In my experience, therapy isn’t something that tends to follow a fixed timeline.
For many people, the first 4–5 sessions are often about building a sense of trust, safety, and connection within the therapeutic relationship. This foundation is important - it creates the space where more meaningful and sometimes deeper work can begin.
If that deeper exploration is needed, it usually unfolds gradually over time, rather than immediately.

Choosing what feels right for you
Some people prefer to begin with individual sessions and see how therapy feels before committing further.
Others find it helpful to commit to a block of sessions from the outset, as it allows space for the process to develop without needing to make ongoing practical decisions.
There isn’t a right or wrong approach - only what feels most appropriate for you at this stage.
If you’d like to talk through what might suit you, or have any questions about how the process works, you’re very welcome to get in touch.
I am happy to discuss payment plans / discretionary reductions for those who really want to engage with therapeutic sessions, but cannot afford it.
